Ed Botkin, an oil painter, will hold his ninth annual art exhibit and sale at the Ocean View Grange in Tenants Harbor on August 16th through 18th from 10 AM to 5 PM. The Ocean View Grange is located on Route 131 between Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. (On GPS: 435 Port Clyde Rd, Tenants Harbor 04860). The public is invited to an opening reception on Friday night, August 16th, from 5 to 7 PM.

This year over thirty new works of realistic oil paintings along the Maine coast will be introduced. In the past year Ed made two extended trips to Vinalhaven Island looking for subjects to paint. They are there in abundance! Many of the new works in this year’s exhibit are based on subjects located on the island.

The painting “Neighbors Dooryard” is based on a house in the village. Two boats were added to the foreground to complete the composition.

This year Ed’s wife Kay will also be showing a line of “Glass and Granite” garden sculptures. She was struck with the beauty of the granite found in a quarry on Vinalhaven and envisioned it combined with glass, a material she is very familiar with through her many years as a stained glass artist.

Ed is also showing at the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset and has been selected as a featured artist in the new Jackson Memorial Library located in Tenants Harbor.

Enjoy a trip down the beautiful St. George peninsular and visit this art show in the Ocean View Grange, located on the right of Rt. 131, 3 miles south of Tenants Harbor village.
