Hermon High School and Foxcroft Academy squared off in this Oct. 19, 2016, game as part of their Penobscot Valley Conference field hockey schedule. Officials from the PVC and the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference are discussing the possibility of implementing crossover scheduling between the two leagues in a handful of sports to help promote better schedules for their programs.

High school pitchers in Maine such as Hampden’s Alex McKenney, pictured playing for the District 3 Senior League all-stars last summer, will be subject to pitch-count restrictions in 2017. The Eastern Maine Middle School League also recently adopted restrictions for its pitcher.
