BANGOR — Get ready to get baking! Kids in grades 5-8 are invited to put their bread baking skills to the test during the Kids Bread Bake-Off at the Jesup Memorial Library at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.
Contestants can submit their bread to be judged in three different categories: best yeast-based bread, best gluten-free bread and best shaped or molded bread (this is a chance to get creative — you can bake your bread in any creative shape). Contestants must create and bake their bread at home and then bring it to the library by 2:30 p.m. the day of judging. A panel of judges will examine each bread’s outer appearance, texture and taste and then will choose a winner in each category. There will be a winner in each category and winners will receive a cookbook.
Registration for this event is required and all participants must register by Tuesday, Feb. 11. To register or if you have any questions stop by the library, call 207-288-4245 or email Mae Corrion at firstname.lastname@example.org.
