HAMPDEN — A benefit spaghetti fundraiser for an Earl C. McGraw School student, recently diagnosed with a rare medical condition, and her family will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at Hampden Academy, 89 Western Ave. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children and there will be a raffle. A donation box and collection of get well cards are located in the entrance.
Lily is a student at McGraw Elementary. She is a ray of sunshine, full of life and energy. She was recently diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis and has been hospitalized for the last few weeks. This is a very rare condition where your immune system attacks healthy brain cells. This can lead to many side effects including seizures, altered conscious level and cognitive regression. Lily’s parents own and operate Salted Butter Farms in Newburgh. The family could use some assistance and we want to make that happen for them. This event is to raise money for the MacArthur-Purdy family during this difficult time.
