FALMOUTH — OceanView at Falmouth will hold a presentation “Alzheimer’s Disease — Communication Strategies That Work” 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 74 Lunt Road.
The presentation will focus on how communication can change while someone is living with Alzheimer’s. Peter Baker, LCSW, program director of the Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter, will present how to interpret verbal and behavioral communication, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
Baker holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Maine and has been working in dementia care since 2006. He has worked in long-term care centers as a social services director, Dementia Program Director and as an executive director.
In his current role as the program director for the Alzheimer’s Association, Baker oversees the care and support services provided by the Maine Chapter serving the entire state of Maine.
