ELLSWORTH — Union River Center for Innovation will hold “Avoiding Legal Pitfalls” talk 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Ellsworth City Hall Auditorium, 1 City Hall Plaza. Many entrepreneurs have an idea for a product or service, but do not know how to appropriately protect themselves from legal pitfalls.
This presentation will outline common legal pitfalls and discuss how to: (i) protect your personal liability; (ii) protect your intellectual property; (iii) manage your relationships with your partners and others; (iv) keep adequate corporate records; and (v) appropriately split equity among founders and investors.
