PORTLAND — Maine Conservation will hold its “Evening for the Environment” 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 772 Stevens Ave.
This year, we’re excited to team up with the Quimby Family Foundation to feature keynote speaker Richard Louv, journalist and author of the national bestseller “Last Child in the Woods”. Mr. Louv appears frequently on national radio and television programs and speaks internationally on nature-deficit disorder, the importance of children’s and adults’ exposure to nature for their health, and on the need for environmental protection.
We will also be celebrating this year’s incredible policy wins for conservation and clean energy in Maine. This past legislative session was the most significant in decades thanks to the advocacy of members like you, the leadership of the governor and state lawmakers, and our community of allies and partners.
Event schedule: 5-5:30 p.m. Speaker’s Reception open to Host Committee and Sponsors; 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Refreshments and Mingling; 6:30-8 p.m. : Speaking portion; 8 p.m. : Live music!
A big thank you to our wonderful Host Committee and generous Event Sponsors! Check out the event page at maineconservation.org.
