BELFAST – A three-day certificate program, Implementing Project Management, will be offered 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20, 27 and Oct. 4 at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center. 80 Belmont Avenue. Participants from a variety of organizations involved in project management will benefit from this comprehensive training including nonprofit businesses as well as construction, utilities, insurance and banking organizations.
A continental breakfast and catered lunch will be included.
Program instructor Jim Milliken has provided management and communication consultations and trainings to business, industry and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States since 1986. His specialties include project management, in which he holds the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
The program is designed to apply the skills introduced in basic project management programs or specifically, the Effective Project Management Program offered at the Hutchinson Center. The Implementing Project Management Program is presented in five modules, The Project Manager, the Stakeholders, the Plan and the Team; Implementation: How to Meet the Challenge; Communication in Project Management, Negotiating skills and Conflict, Meetings and Presentations. Participants will learn such skills as how to address the challenges of bringing project management processes into the workplace, how to develop and manage the project management team, how to market the project and how to use communication skills in negotiating.
