Town of Lincoln to hold 2nd annual Penobscot Pirate Paddle

LINCOLN —  The 2nd annual Penobscot Pirate Paddle will be held 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at 184 ME-116. Rain date: Aug. 24.

Join us for a day of piracy and pillaging on the Penobscot.  After the treasure hunt, take your loot into our town.

The launching area for the Penobscot Pirate Paddle is at Lincoln Regional Airport. Take the Airport Road off the Access Road. The registration fee is 10 dubloons per ship (that’s $10 dollars for all ye landlubbers).

This event is for canoes, kayaks, inflatable rafts, stand up paddle boards, pedal boats and row boats. NO motorized boats or jetskiis please.

PFDs, shoes or sandals must be worn for all participants. Only the maximum rated number of participants per vessel. This is a family friendly event, so pirates of all ages are welcome. Lads and Lassies under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult buccaneer.

There will be special prizes for: The best decorated Vessel and  The best dressed Swashbuckler.

We will also be registering Pirates tomorrow morning starting at 9 am at the launch point. Events and Tourism Committee member, Deb Argast will be doing face painting at the start, and will be making balloon swords for kids at the South Lincoln Boat Landing at the finish. We will also have the BBQ Food truck at the S. Lincoln Boat Landing as well. This is going to be an amazing event, we have so many amazing pirate prizes, don’t miss it!
