BANGOR — Northern Light Palliative Care is pleased to welcome their latest palliative care fellow to the practice, Susan Tyler, MD.
Dr. Tyler is a three-time graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, earning degrees in biology and psychology (B.S), pharmacology (M.S.), and her medical degree. Her residency training was also accomplished at Dalhousie (where she was the chief resident), and she has received additional training and completed several certifications, including social and behavioral research, biomedical research ethics, and more from Health Canada, Acadia University, and University of British Columbia.
She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and has been employed as a radiation oncologist at Vancouver Island Cancer Centre and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center. She was also recently a clinical assistant professor of oncology and Memorial University in Newfoundland.
She is a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador; Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association; European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology; Canadian Medical Association; American Society for Radiation Oncology; and Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology.
