BELFAST — Alison Rector will lead a discussion “Pushing Up Daisies: Natural Burial and Green Cemeteries” 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the Belfast Free Library, 106 High Street.

Have you wondered what a “green” cemetery is?  How do you arrange a natural burial in Maine?  How much does it cost?  What’s better for the environment:  cremation or burial?

These questions and more will be discussed.   A slide presentation including photos of green cemeteries in Maine and around the world will be presented. All are welcome to join this free public presentation.

Alison Rector is a board member for the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine, an all-volunteer nonprofit educational organization dedicated to helping the public make informed decisions about after-death arrangements that are dignified, meaningful and affordable.
