Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust for our monthly Hike-the-Guide outing on Saturday, July 21 from 9-11 a.m. at the Penobscot Shore Preserve in Prospect. This is our newest and most northern preserve, and the only one to offer access to the Penobscot River. The hike is open to all ages and abilities. Please email to register for this free event.

Directions: From Belfast, drive north on toward the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, but turn left at the lights onto Route 174 before the bridge. In 1.4 miles, turn right onto Bowden Point Road. The preserve is on the right in 1.1 miles, 100 yards before Worcester’s Lobster Bait. There is pull-in parking for three cars, others can park along the road

Hike-the-Guide is a series of monthly guided outings on Land Trust preserves listed in our Trail Guide. Held on the third Saturday of each month the explorations are open to all ages and abilities.  Take the Hike-the-Guide Challenge: visit 12 or more preserves by April 30, 2019 and receive an LL Bean backpack. Record your visits on the checklist at the back of Land Trust Trail Guide or download the checklist from our website.

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 10,000 acres, offering 45 miles of trails for public recreation.
