BANGOR — Meet at the Northeast Penjajawoc Preserve’s Kittredge Road kiosk at 9 a.m. for a mile hike through the preserve to an active vernal pool. Salamander eggs were found there on May 16 so we may see aquatic salamander larvae or wood frog tadpoles. There should be other aquatic insects there as well. Wear good hiking shoes and be prepared for bugs but please note that bug sprays are harmful to the pool’s contents. The hike and exploration should last 2 to 2.5 hours. RSVP to the Bangor Land Trust office at email@example.com or call 942-1010 and leave a message.
