Sponsored by Pine Tree Hospice and the Maine Humanities Council, this book club offers a wide range of readings that will make you think about the subject of tenderness as you never have before. This book club that is facilitated by Greg Winston, a professor of English at Husson University.
Our reading for May is a masterpiece of Leo Tolstoy’s late fiction, “The Death of Ivan Ilyich”. This is Tolstoy’s best known work after “War and Peace”, and is a short work of literature, a novella. As we read, we learn what Tolstoy did as he aged. Read, discuss, or feel free just to listen – and enjoy this experience. Members need not attend all events.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at The Mill Café in Dover-Foxcroft. The book club will end in May for the summer, but will resume again in the fall.
Books are now available to borrow at Pine Tree Hospice, 883 West Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft. Call us at 564-4346 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
