The Hampden Historical Society will host an Open House at its Kinsley House Museum and Archive on Saturday, April 28 from 1-4 p.m. with light refreshments, historic displays and door prizes. The Kinsley House Museum is located at 83 Main Road South (Rte 1A) in Hampden. The Open House will commemorate the Society’s 48th Birthday.
The Open House will feature historical displays including military uniforms and memorabilia from WWI to the present. Tours of the Kinsley House also include artifacts and memorabilia dating back to the War of 1812 and the Battle of Hampden.
The Hannibal Hamlin Law Office will also be open for tours. Mr. Hamlin practiced law in this very building from 1834 until the time he was inaugurated as Vice President of the United States under President Abraham Lincoln. The HHS Archive will also be open for anyone interested in conducting genealogical research of Hampden families.
