On Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m., come join us at the Strand Theater in Rockland to celebrate Earth Day and see “Just Eat It”, a film about food waste in North America.
A husband and wife decide they will live from food that is thrown away (close to or at sell by dates) for six months. The film is both funny, poignant and shocking. It touches on our need for “perfect” produce and what happens to the “imperfect” produce. There are interviews with Tristram Smith (author of “Waste”) and other food waste experts.
Good Tern Co-op, Rockland is partnering with the Strand Theater and Waste Watchers Rockland and there will be a panel discussion after the movie. We will be especially looking at how the individual can influence the waste in their own lives for example by learning to make compost.
