Frenchman Bay Conservancy and landowner Ben Huber will host a tour of private property surrounding picturesque Duck Pond in Franklin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.

The event is free and open to the public. Huber will guide a walk around the property and discuss the experience of owning land with a conservation easement, a voluntary legal agreement between a landowner and a conservation organization designed to protect the land’s natural values.

During the event, participants will learn about the options available for landowners to conserve their property. Frenchman Bay Conservancy holds a conservation easement on the Duck Pond property, part of over 7,400 acres conserved by the organization in coastal Hancock County. Anyone interested in attending is asked to register in advance for directions to the property. Participants will need mud-proof footwear.

Contact Austin Schuver at austin@frenchmanbay.org or 422-2328 to register.
