BANGOR — The Youth Chorale for ages 12-18 and Treble Choir for ages 9 and older of the Bangor Area Children’s Choir are holding open auditions for new members at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 225 French St.
Bangor Area Children’s Choir just completed a busy and very successful holiday concert season, including a wonderful Winter Concert with repertoire ranging from 16th century composer Lassus to The Wailin’ Jennys, caroling at “Homes for the Holidays” and at Eastern Maine Medical Center, plus three performances of “The Nutcracker” with Bangor Symphony Orchestra and Robinson Ballet.
The spring roster will include the world premiere of a commissioned work by South Carolina composer Dan Forrest, who is arranging a Maine lumber camp folk song. The choir is grateful to Bangor Rotary Club for supporting this endeavor.
The choir has students from 13 different communities in the Greater Bangor area.
