SWANVILLE — Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition’s monthly adventure will be a hike of Meadow Brook/Hurds Pond Preserve on Saturday, Dec. 16, in Swanville, a preserve of Coastal Mountains Land Trust. Join Cloe Chunn for a hike from the Bessey Tract on Route 141 to the Hauk-Fry Tract on Oak Hill Road.
Hikers will meet at 10 a.m. at the Swanville Transfer Station on Swan Lake Avenue, Route 141. Bring warm layers, water, a bag lunch, hiking poles if you use them. We’ll be trekking more than 3 miles of rugged ground, through beautiful mixed woods, over two rock dams, with scenic views of Meadow Brook and Hurds Pond.
