The next installment of “Dirigo Speaks” in Bangor will be Tuesday, November 14th. “The Next Act: Starting a Business After 50,” panel discussion will be moderated by the BDN’s own Meg Haskell.
Even though starting a business can be challenging, more and more 50+ Mainers are finding second and even third careers by starting their own businesses. Want to turn passion into profit? Have an idea you think might be useful to others in your community? Join us for a conversation about where to start, how to start, and the resources available to bring your ideas to life as told by some of those who have done it!
“The Next Act” will feature Cheryl Michaud of West Market Square Artisan Coffeehouse, Patti Rapeport of Security Solutions of Maine LLC., and Stan Makara, whose post-retirement business plan is in the works! Bangor SCORE will also be there with information about their free mentoring and business development workshops to help you get started.
Dirigo Speaks – exclusive conversations with the people shaping Maine’s culture, economy, policies, and communities.
Dirigo Speaks is open to all and free to attend and is a project of AARP Maine and The Bangor Daily News. Visit aarp.org/DirigoSpeaks for more information on Dirigo Speaks.
