Youngest Rockefeller of her generation shares family stories in new book

Join Eileen Rockefeller Growald, the first Rockefeller woman to write a personal family memoir — “Being a Rockefeller, Becoming Myself” — at the Jesup Memorial Library for an intimate evening of stories; she will share the book and stories of her life, and she will answer questions from the audience. It all happens at the Jesup, 34 Mount Desert St. in Bar Harbor, on Saturday, August 31 beginning at 7 p.m.
As the youngest of six children and 22 cousins, Ms. Growald learned early that great wealth and fame could open almost any door, but could not buy personal worth. Her memoir affirms how family and friendships truly shape us, whatever the circumstances of our birth.
Join us for this terrific evening. Sherman’s book store, co-sponsor of this event, will be on hand with books for purchase, and part of the proceeds from all books bought that evening will be donated to the Jesup.
