FRANKFORT, Maine — The Winterport Clippers Guild will host its third quilt show 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at the Frankfort Congregational Church on Route 1A.

The show will feature over 100 quilts made by the guild’s members. There will be many other items for sale as well, including fabric yardage, notions, books, magazines, jelly rolls, and coordinated fat quarter bundles. Members will also have finished quilted items available for sale. A donation of $3 is suggested at the door and lunch will be available for purchase from the ladies of the church.

The guild was organized in 2006 and currently has about thirty members. They meet twice a month to work on various projects, in addition to a weekly sewing day. Current projects range from making blocks for Quilts of Valor, a charity supporting veterans, to a full size mystery quilt.

The guild donates their time and effort to charitable efforts including a calendar wall hanging, donated to the Winterport Library. Over the past ten years, the members have sewed and donated over 100 quilts to Bags of Love, a charity that gives comfort items to children who are in crisis due to neglect, abuse, poverty or homelessness.

Frankfort is located 11 miles south of Hampden on Route 1A along the Penobscot River and 9 miles north of Stockton Springs. Get inspired, find bargains, and start your Christmas shopping early at the Winterport Clippers quilt show.
