Talk on ‘Wilderness Under Siege’

BRUNSWICK — George Wuerthner, a noted ecologist author, and activist who has visited more than 400 designated Wilderness Areas in the United States, will talk on  “Wilderness under Siege” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St. His presentation will cover the early years of the wilderness movement, the creation of the national Wilderness Act and Wilderness System, threats to wilderness, both physical and philosophical, and why wildlands protection is the best way to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
