The story of lumbering at Dennys River will be featured at the Lincoln Memorial Library in Dennysville on Tuesday evening, January 28, at 7 p.m. Between 1787 to 1928, with just simple tools, horses and oxen, millions of feet of lumber were sawed annually and shipped to market from this down east community. This is the third in a series of presentations by the Dennys River Historical Society entitled “All in A Day’s Work,” detailing the livelihood of people in Eastern Maine. The presentation will follow a brief business meeting, concluding with refreshments.
Everyone is welcome to come and share thoughts.
