MACHIAS, Maine — It’s not too early to reserve your spot as a vendor at the Saturday, Sept. 27 Harvest Fair and Wine and Beer Tasting Festival, sponsored by the Machias Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Vendor spaces are $20 each and farmers selling their harvest are free. Open is the entire space between the Pellon Center, the Machias Savings’ Bank ATM and Station 1898 this year. Pumpkin Chucking will take place into the bay, vendors will open and then the wine/beer tasting will be held in the Pellon Center.

The pumpkins will fly at 10 a.m. Teams are building catapults, trebuchets, slingshots and various other non-motorized contraptions to fling the pumpkins. The vendors will open immediately aftewards and the wine and beer event will run from 1-5 p.m. There are also plans for a great kiddy area to keep the little ones entertained. Last year’s vendors were very happy about their profits and the Chamber expects at least three times as many visitors this year.

Call the Chamber now at 255.4402 to reserve a spot. Even though their fee is waived, farmers should reserve a space as well.
