NEWCASTLE — The Lincoln County Democratic Committee’s (LCDC) monthly meeting is an opportunity to meet members, participate in discussion, hear from political candidates, public officials and other speakers with expertise, ideas and opinions about current issues.
The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Community Room at the Fire Station, 86 River Road.
This month’s agenda includes the opportunity for attendees to meet and hear from Betsy Sweet of Hallowell, the second Democrat to announce a run for the U.S. Senate seat up for grabs in 2020.
“I’m excited to come to the Lincoln County Democratic Committee meeting to kick off the work we all need to do to make sure we have someone who is ‘On Our Side’ in Washington,” said Sweet. “Amidst all the bad news, it will be nice to be among friends ready to make change.”
The committee met U.S. Senate candidate Bre Kidman of Saco on July 18 and has also invited candidate Sara Gideon of Freeport to attend an upcoming meeting.
Information about the committee, its meetings and other activities may be found at lincolncountydemocrats.com or facebook.com. Chris Johnson, committee chair, may also be contacted directly at 207-632-6066 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
All Democrats and progressive independent/unenrolled voters are encouraged to attend any committee meeting. Registered Democrats in Lincoln County are invited to join the LCDC as voting members to help in their work.
