Town, Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition hires planner

BUCKSPORT, Maine — The town of Bucksport and Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition has hired James Bradney, MSW, as the health planning director effective Aug. 12.

James brings with him experience that spans a 25-year career in a variety of positions that makes him well-suited to manage the multiple needs of the coalition. He has significant experience in budgeting, finance and project management with 17 years of work in both finance and film and video production. Working both in New York City and mid-coast Maine, James eventually settled in Belfast where he enrolled in the University of Maine’s graduate school program. He went on to receive his Masters in Social Work in 2005. Since that time, he has worked in the healthcare field in a variety of capacities, including as a substance abuse counselor, behavioral health therapist and as a Community Care Team organizer. Prior to coming to BBHCC he worked at Pen Bay Hospital, Wellspring’s substance abuse facility, Acadia Hospital and Seaport Family Practice. James enjoys spending time with his two daughters, kayaking, cycling, swimming in the Penobscot Bay, and beachcombing.
