BANGOR, Maine — “The Unexpected Surfer Boys” will be rockin’ the Gracie Theatre with their sounds of summer at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28.
Sponsored by the Husson Alumni Association, this Beach Boys tribute band’s performance is part of Husson’s Reunion Day celebration. The public is welcome to attend the performance.
“These performers entertained us in 2012 as The Unexpected Boys with their musical tribute to Frank Valli and the Four Seasons. We’re happy to welcome them back to The Gracie, as they put their signature stamp on the timeless hits of The Beach Boys,” said Jeri Misler, managing director of the Gracie Theatre, in a press release. “By the end of the show, everyone will want to head to the beach singing “Surfin’ Safari!”
Tickets are $20 for the general public, with a dinner and show option for Husson alumni.
Featuring classic hits and the timeless harmonies of the legendary Beach Boys, including “Surfin’ USA,” “California Girls” and “Good Vibrations,” this show follows four hilarious guys at a Bachelor Party they will never forget. The groom may be getting married, but his three kooky friends plan to have “Fun, Fun, Fun” before the big day.
Seasoned entertainers, The Unexpected Surfer Boys features actors from original and touring casts of several Broadway shows. The second half of the program is a “Tribute to Broadway,” with hits from the Great White Way performed by the quartet or by solo members of the group. This outstanding tribute band has headlined all over the world and opened for such celebrities as Diana Ross and Dionne Warwick. They were also featured on the season finale of The Real Housewives of New York City.
