The Magic of Music

Orono – In honor of National Assisted Living Week September 7 – 13, Dirigo Pines will present The Magic of Music hosted by the Silver/Solomon Duo on Wednesday September 10 at 7:15 in the KGP

Noreen Silver and Marisa Solomon, colleagues in the Bangor Symphony Orchestra started playing together as a duo in 2012. Since then they have delighted audiences in the Bangor area with their music which covers a variety of styles, from Baroque and Classical to Scottish folk music and ragtime.

Noreen Silver was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Since moving to Maine in 1999, Noreen has established a reputation as a fine teacher. She is currently principal cellist in the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine where she directs the chamber music program.

Marisa Solomon received cello performance degrees from the Oberlin College and San Francisco Conservatories of Music. She has participated in many festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and the Breckenridge Music Festival. Marisa is a member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and teaches privately in the Bangor area, as well as being on the adjunct faculty at the University of Maine.
