The Descendants of Bluegrass, an outstanding New England Bluegrass band with family ties to legendary Bluegrass pioneers of Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, will make a much-anticipated appearance at Next Generation Theatre in Brewer on Friday, April 25th. The Descendants feature Bill Thibodeau, son of Maine Bluegrass pioneer Sam Tidwell; Herman McGee, who played for many years in White Mountain Bluegrass with his parents, Mac & Hazel McGee; Gary Pomerleau, son of fiddler Joe Pomerleau; and Rob Ravlin, son of a New Hampshire country singer. Welcome “home” the iconic Bill “BT” Thibodeau, a Maine Bluegrass star for many decades, who now makes his home in Rhode Island. The other Descendants hail from New Hampshire.
Stan Keach, who has a national reputation as a Bluegrass songwriter and penned with Bill Thibodeau “Whispering Waters” – a Bluegrass Top Ten National Hit Song for Audie Blaylock and Redline – says, “Maine audiences will love The Descendants of Bluegrass,” says Keach. “This is a terrific new band!”
Doors open at 7:30 and the show starts at 8:00pm with $10 Admission. Refreshments and adult beverages will be sold by Next Gen Cafe. For tickets and info call 207-989-7100.
