Terri Vieira named Sebasticook Valley Health CEO

BREWER, Maine — EMHS president and CEO M. Michelle Hood, FACHE and Michael Gallagher, chairman of the Sebasticook Valley Health Board of Trustees have announced that Terri Vieira has been appointed president and CEO of Sebasticook Valley Health. Vieira had been serving as acting CEO since April. As permanent president and CEO, Vieira also becomes a senior vice president of EMHS.

“Terri is an experienced healthcare leader who is highly regarded at SVH, across EMHS, and in the Pittsfield community,” says Hood. “Her thoughtful, caring, and collaborative style of leadership has been very effective during her three month tenure as acting CEO and I look forward to working with her in the years to come.

Gallagher says he is pleased Vieira accepted the position of chief executive officer of SVH on a permanent basis. “Terri is a solid leader, and as someone who has come up through the ranks in healthcare, she intimately understands both the complexities of running a hospital as well as the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. I know she will do an outstanding job.”

Vieira said the past several weeks have been among the most rewarding of her career and she is very is pleased to accept the job of president and CEO on a permanent basis. “I am fortunate to work with some of the best people in healthcare, both here at SVH and with my colleagues across EMHS. It is a privilege to be able to serve my community by ensuring patients, families, and community continues to receive the quality service and outstanding care they’ve come to expect from SVH.”

Before accepting the chief executive position at SVH, Vieira served for 13 years as vice president of operations, and before that she was director of diagnostic services at Central Maine Healthcare.
