Fiddler Gus La Casse has been called, “a natural-born fiddle player…whose energy would power a small city.” Now, join him at the Jesup Memorial Library on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. as he returns for the Sundays at the Jesup Concert Series.
La Casse plays both standards of Cape Breton and Acadian genres as well as his own original work. Based in Downeast Maine, La Casse performs both as a solo artist and with area musicians. He was the 2014 student in residence at The Acadia School of Traditional Music, and appeared on the Canadian international television broadcast from the Congrès Mondial Acadian 2014. In 2016, La Casse traveled to Ireland as part of the Young Tradition Vermont touring group and will be playing at the 14th Annual Boston Celtic Music Festival in January.
All concerts are free and open to the public. The next concert in the series is on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. with classical guitarist Kevin Morse. For more information, contact the Jesup at 207-288-4245 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
