DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Dover Cove Farmers Market has been a regular presence every Saturday in the parking lot near the Dover Chamber of Commerce this summer. Fresh, locally grown vegetables, bakery, and meat products have been available from Piscataquis County farmers. This weekend is the last summer market and, as a special conclusion, a Thanksgiving dinner with all of the fixings will be raffled at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

The dinner includes a turkey, potatoes, squash, onions, garlic, beets, carrots, dinner rolls, cranberries, and more. It’s all locally produced in Piscataquis County. The value of the package is $150, and tickets are available for $5 each by calling Gale Robinson at the  Leaves and Blooms Greenhouse at 564-7433.

They had hoped to sell at least 125 tickets, but are still a long ways from their goal. They are able to accept credit and debit cards over the phone, therefore if you aren’t able to purchase tickets elsewhere just give them a call. The winner of the raffle will be notified after the drawing and the dinner will be available after Nov. 19.

While the summer markets are going to be over after this Saturday, the Dover Cove Farmers will continue to hold a market the first and third Saturdays of each month starting Saturday, Nov. 18, downstairs at the Thompson Library, 186 E. Main St. If you are a crafter or other vendor interested in participating part time, or even considering becoming a full-time member, contact Gale Robinson at 564-7433 for  information.
