Septic Social for Lake Auburn

It’s National Drinking Water Week! This is a time that water districts invite the public to help us celebrate the work that we do throughout the year. We take very seriously our mission to provide clean, safe drinking water for public health, for economic growth, and for fire protection.

The Lake Auburn Watershed Protection Commission and the Androscoggin Soil and Water Conservation District have booked a “Septic Social” for Friday, May 10, from 8:30-12:30. Yes, we will focus on septic tanks, systems, toilets, and other usually unmentionable topics! We will teach people about that mysterious underground system at the end of their household drainpipes and we’ll provide assistance to watershed residents needing maintenance.
Our local septic services vendor has noticed that people are deferring maintenance of their systems- probably due to the economy- and we know that failing systems can add contaminants to the lake. We’re hoping to prevent additional problems in the lake and we know that area residents can help do their part.

The event is free, but registrations are required- for more info contact
