Join Sarah Redmond, Maine Sea Grant Marine Extension Agent, and Hillary Krapf, seaweed enthusiast and health educator to review the biology, diversity, sustainable harvest regulations and ecology of Maine seaweeds. Participants will learn how to handle, identify, and prepare several different species of Maine seaweeds, incorporating them into a variety of culinary and beauty applications. Recipes to take home will be available. Participants bring their own lunch. Appropriate for ages 15 and up. Space is limited and registration is required. Fee: $30 and $25 for members (limited scholarships are available).
