BANGOR — Penobscot Bay Sail & Power Squadron commander, Tom Welgoss, presented Sea Dog Brewing Co. of Bangor’s General Manager, Bert Follero, with a plaque in recognition of the restaurant’s commitment to boating safety and education over several years. Commander Welgoss expressed his appreciation of Sea Dog’s excellent hospitality and business meeting accommodations.

The Penobscot Bay Squadron is part of the United States Power Squadrons, which is the world’s largest private, non-profit, recreational boating organization. For more than 100 years, United States Power Squadrons — America’s Boating Club — has been leading the way on the importance of boater safety education. The organization also emphasizes friendship among its members.

The Squadron regularly meets at the Sea Dog in Bangor for its business meetings and to conduct seminars for both members and the public. Welgoss stated that Sea Dog’s private meeting facilities, excellent and affordable dining offerings, and central location with ample parking help the Squadron achieve the maximum benefit from its events.
