Salty Dog Gallery located at 322 Main Street in Southwest Harbor will host an auction on April 19 at 5:30 p.m. to benefit the Island Housing Trust. Dan Granholm and Friends will provide music throughout the event and wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction and Former State Senator Dennis Damon will conduct a live auction of about a dozen pieces. The auction includes a gouache painting by Judy Taylor, the artist who painted the mural for the Maine Department of Labor. Additional artists featured in the auction include Roc Caivano, Heather Thayer, Lindsey Hopkins-Weld, and Nicole Herz. Some of the businesses that contributed auction items include Havana Restaurant, Watermark Restaurant, Improv Acadia, Cadillac Mountain Sports, and Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars. Other auction items available for bidding include motor and sail boat rides, music lessons, lobsters, wine and whoopie pies.
