BANGOR, Maine — Thanks to a partnership between Eastern Maine Development Corp., The First and the U.S. SBA, a Rockport motor inn is under new ownership.
Scott Perry worked with EMDC and its funding partners and recently purchased the 23-room Schooner Bay Motor Inn on Commercial Street. The Schooner Bay Motor Inn has been a part of the Rockport business community since 1997.
Located in the heart of Maine’s midcoast region, a short drive from popular destinations like Camden and Rockland, the Schooner Bay Motor Inn combines hotel like privacy with a bed and breakfast feel — and keeps room rates closer to those for a traditional motel.
Perry’s purchase of the business will create two new jobs.
While the business is closed for the season, Perry and his staff are taking reservations for the upcoming operating season. The Schooner Bay Motor Inn reopens in May. Additional information about the property and online reservations are available on the motel’s website, www.sbaymotorinn.com or by calling 888.308.8855 or locally, 236-2205.
