Richard Sawyer retiring after 30 years with Norton Financial

CUMBERLAND FORESIDE, Maine — Norton Financial Services, which offers employer sponsored retirement plans and investment management services to businesses and individuals, announced the retirement of Richard Sawyer, founder and past president.
Sawyer co founded Norton Financial Services in 1988 with Norton Insurance Agency. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter®, Licensed Insurance Consultant, Chartered Financial Consultant® and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. Sawyer has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the Premier Association of Financial Professionals® since 1979 and has achieved 13 Court of Table honors. Sawyer served as Chair of the Main Platform for the 2007 Annual Meeting, one of MDRT’s highest rated meetings, hosting an audience of 7,000 members from all over the world with translations in 12 languages.
In 2001 his peers honored him with the J. Putnam Stevens Award granted annually by the Maine Association of Insurance and Financial Services Professionals (NAIFA-ME). He is an Investment Advisor Representative as well as a Registered Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, member of FINRA/SIPC, a Registered Investment Adviser.  Sawyer is a member of the Financial Planning Association, National and Maine Association of Insurance Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and past president of Maine Estate Planning Council.
He is an established photographer and attentive grandfather. Sawyer and his wife reside in Scarborough.
