GUILFORD — Representative Paul Stearns has announced his intention to run for the Maine House of Representatives. Stearns is currently serving his second term in that seat. House District #119 is made up of Abbot, Beaver Cove, Bowerbank, Greenville, Guilford, Monson, Parkman, Sangerville, Sebec, Shirley and Willimantic plus the unorganized territories of Blanchard Township, Northeast Piscataquis (including Barnard and Elliottsville Townships) and Northwest Piscataquis.
“It is an honor to serve the hardworking people of Piscataquis County in Augusta” Stearns said. “We have done a decent job of getting the fiscal affairs of the state in order, but there is still a great deal of work to be done to make sure that essential government services are provided to the citizenry in an efficient and effective manner.”
Stearns served a term on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee and currently serves as the ranking house Republican on the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee.
