Repairs to Church on the Hill in Addison under way

The Church on the Hill in Addison in 2011 before repairs were begun.

ADDISON, Maine — Have you driven by the Church on the Hill in Addison and noticed that the belfry is missing and the roof is completely shingled?  

R.L White from MDI is currently working on the church with the latest contract.  The belfry is on the ground behind the church and will be rebuilt as part of this current contract. The bell will also will be repaired and restored to the belfry when it is on the church again.

Friends of the Church on the Hill in Addison, which is raising funds for and overseeing the restoration of the church, will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Addison Town Hall.

Membership in the Friends of the Church is $5 per year. New members are needed to help with the planning and fundraising. Donations and new members are always welcome. Contact Muriel Grant for information at 482-2276. 

The Friends of the Church on the Hill wants to publically thank those who recently sent donations toward the cause and those who have purchased items/donated at our sales. A grant has recently been received from the Belvedere Fund that will be used to restore the five windows and two front doors. In order to complete the plans for the building additional funds will be needed.

 The Friends of the Church on the Hill is a 501C3 organization. Ways to support the organization include ordering Rada knives and products from the group, buy one of their cookbooks or donate cans and bottles at Delia’s for the Friends of the Church on the Hill.
