Relief for the Rockies benefit block Party

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Plans are underway for a unique fundraiser to help those affected by the Waldo Canyon wild fire in Colorado Springs, CO. The all-day event “Relief for the Rockies” is slated to take place on Friday, July 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The event will be held at Wintergreen Arts Center and will feature a variety of Aroostook County’s best known bands and musicians, including Brian Mosher and Doug Cronkhite from the band Common Crossing at 8:00 p.m. as well as a performance by local favorites Mark and Jordyn Shaw at 6:00 well as The Grinn Brothers. The center will host a “Relief for the Rockies” silent auction from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as well as children’s “beach party” complete with face painting inside the center from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Donations in support of the “Relief for the Rockies” prior to the July 13th event can be made locally by contacting Claudia Stevens at the United Way of Aroostook, 480 Main Street, (3rd Floor), Presque Isle, ME 04769 or by calling 764-5197 and also through the American Red Cross by contacting Joyce Knorr at 493-4620 or by mail at American Red Cross: “Relief for the Rockies” Colorado Springs Relief Fund, 7 Hatch Drive, Suite 250, Caribou, Maine 04736. Donations will also be accepted via donation jar at Wintergreen Arts Center. Please be sure to indicate “Relief for the Rockies” on all contributions paid via check or credit card when making a donation at any of the three locations.
