The American Red Cross, Stonyfield and Hannaford officially launched their partnership to help increase the blood supply and raise awareness about the need for blood. During the  month of May, all presenting donors at Red Cross blood drives will receive a coupon for a free quart of Stonyfield Organic Yogurt redeemable at any Hannaford location in Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont.

To celebrate the partnership, Stonyfield’s organic roadies handed out free samples at the Hannaford Store on 201 John E Devine Drive in Manchester, N.H. Mascots “Gurt” from Stonyfield and “Buddy the Blood Drop” from the Red Cross were in attendance and there were giveaways for the public.

Blood is an essential component for patient care in area hospitals, and the only source of blood is a healthy, volunteer blood donor. About every two seconds someone in America needs blood, and one donation can help save up to three lives.

To make an appointment to donate blood, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or log on to redcrossblood.org.
