Putney hires Kevin Woods as director of Supply Chain

PORTLAND, Maine — Putney, Inc., a rapidly growing pet pharmaceutical company focused on the development and sale of generic prescription medicines for pets, has hired Kevin Woods as director of Supply Chain, responsible for ensuring reliable supply of Putney’s expanding portfolio of FDA-approved veterinary generic products. Woods will report to Ellen Tobias, Vice President of Technical Operations.

Woods combines a strong manufacturing background with supply chain experience, most recently as Manager of Distribution Supply Chain Operations for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. In that role, Woods developed and implemented standardized procedures across the company’s international supply chain to improve reliability reduce cost and ensure regulatory compliance. At Mallinckrodt, Woods was instrumental in executing product launch operations to bring new products to market on time or ahead of schedule. Prior, Woods gained experience at Covidien as a Senior Engineer and a Production Supervisor in Covidien’s aseptic manufacturing facility. “I’m eager to apply my operations expertise to look for supply chain efficiencies that ensure on time delivery of Putney’s high quality generics,” says Woods.

Tobias says Woods will continue to develop Putney’s logistical processes to ensure reliable supply of new and existing products. “Kevin has already demonstrated the ability to manage a complex global supply chain of products with sensitive handling requirements. His expertise will allow Putney to manage inventory levels to reduce costs while preventing stock outs,” says Tobias.
