It has been reported that a speakeasy will open for one night on October 5th at 7pm in Bath. The location hasn’t been disclosed but according to a reliable source, entry will be granted by presenting a membership card and password. Cards are for sale at Now You’re Cooking and Brick Store Antiques in Bath and online at for $15.

Additional sources claim that the Hadacol Bouncers, a 6-piece jazz band, will entertain the anticipated crowd with a fun hybrid of New Orleans Jazz, Chicago Style Jazz and the stride piano classics. The group is a collaboration between Peter Dunphy on banjo, tenor guitar and vocals, and Tom Whitehead on piano, accordion and National steel guitar. The rest of the band features Bill Rayne on trombone and vocals, Tom Wilbur on tuba, Peter Lord on soprano sax, and Don Whitney on drums.

All proceeds from the night will benefit Sagadahoc Preservation, Inc., (SPI) a 501(c)3 dedicated to the preservation of Bath area buildings possessing architectural merit; presenting educational programs to children and adults; and maintaining the Winter Street Center (wink, wink) located at 880 Washington Street in Bath.

The Winter Street Center (nudge, nudge) is also the home to Dreamland Theater which will open its 5th season on October 10th.
