Penobscot Bay Chamber executive director appointed president of Midcoast Chamber Council

MIDCOAST, Maine — Staci Coomer, executive director of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed as the president of the Midcoast Chamber Council for the 2014 fiscal year of July 2013-June 2014.

The MidCoast Chamber Council is a regional alliance of eight Chambers of Commerce of the Midcoast region of Maine from Bath-Brunswick to Searsport. The region is defined by the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT), and the Midcoast region works closely with the MOT and the other seven tourism regions across the state.

The Midcoast Chamber Council is led by directors of the individual Chambers of Commerce and works on projects related to promoting the region, lending power and breadth to each individual effort. The council produces materials for tourism kiosks, does online and print advertising, produces the Maine’s Midcoast See Life!  Publication, administers the regional website, and keeps the Maine Office of Tourism abreast of major happenings in the region.

Formed on Aug. 1, 2011, through the consolidation of the Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville Chamber and the Rockland-Thomaston Area Chamber, the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in Knox, Waldo, and northern Lincoln counties.

The fourth largest chamber in the state of Maine, the PBRCC is also one of the largest membership-driven community organizations in the area. The Chamber represents the coming together of businesses, non-profits, government, and citizens in support of a vibrant and growing region with unparalleled quality of life and quality of place.
