Bangor, Maine – Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) is pleased to announce it has been selected as one of ten organizations nationwide to participate in the Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program, in partnership with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Henry Schein Cares is the corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ:HSIC).

As part of the Henry Schein Cares Global Donation Program, PCHC has received over $22,000 in medical and dental supplies for their practices, including the Dental Center, Brewer Medical Center, and main Laboratory, which will be used to increase stock of needed supplies, offset costs for certain procedures, and better help patients.

“We are pleased to have been selected as a recipient of these much needed supplies from Henry Schein Cares,” said Robert Allen, MD, MHCM, FACC, Executive Medical Director. “The supplies will be very useful for our practices and will allow us to examine better quality and low-cost supply options.”

NACHC and Henry Schein designate up to ten Global Product Donation grants per year for Federally Qualified Health Centers which provide successful applicants with a broad selection of health care products and supplies.

“Henry Schein’s donation is greatly appreciated as our patients and departments will greatly benefit from them. The insulin needles and syringes will help our care management group who teach patients how to give themselves insulin, while other supplies will help with our walk-in and Podiatry departments,” said Sue Brownell, CMA (AAMA), Health Coach, Brewer Medical Center, one of Penobscot Community Health Care practices. “The donated supplies will help us expand our access to care for those most in need in our communities.”
