ORRINGTON, Maine — The Town of Orrington turns 225 years old on Thursday, March 21. Please join local dignitaries at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday  at the Orrington Town Hall Annex, as Azubah Ryder Freeman, Orrington’s own “Paul Revere,” blasts from the past to herald the Chairman of the Board of Selectman’s reading of the official proclamation.

Orrington will honor its 225th birthday with a weeklong “Old Home Week” celebration to be held from July 13 through July 21.
Old Home Week events will incorporate all the many unique villages that make Orrington so special. A huge parade on Saturday, July 13, kicks off the celebration. Other events during the week include a cannon muster, endless yard sale, home and garden tour, home decorating contest, suppers and breakfasts, photo contest, bass fishing tournament, triathalon, antique auto show, sporting events, square dance, street dance, golf tournaments, nature walks, cemetary tours, Maine Farm days, arts and crafts fair and much more.
The Old Home Week organizing committee and the Orrington Historical Society plan to attend Thursday’s event.
