The Egg Festival Committee volunteers have been working hard this year to plan the 2014 Central Maine Egg Festival to be held Monday, July 14 – Saturday, July 19. Our theme this year is “Egg”wareness – Support Your Favorite Cause. This is a great theme that can support so many good causes. Please bring your creativity and energy to the Famous Big Parade and then join us down at Manson Park to enjoy new and old favorites such as the Craft Tent, tons of live entertainment, lots of food, Timber Tina’s Great Maine Lumberjack Show, and the Fireworks finale. Make sure to drop by the Pittsfield Municipal Airport to enjoy the experimental aircraft flying in for The Great Central Maine Everything That Flies Fly In.

Kicking off the festivities on Saturday, July 19 is the Famous Big Parade that will not be complete without your entry. This is a great way to get your company, family and friends together. Have fun waving to your friends along the parade route and show off your “Egg”wareness float, display or vehicle. Have a contest for your organization or business to see who has the best idea for a float. Have fun putting the best float or display possible or just walk or ride in the Big Parade “Supporting Your Favorite Cause.”

Line up begins at 8:00 am at the Pittsfield Industrial Park on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Please be sure to enter through the Hancock Lumber Entrance off Main Street (formerly known as South Main). Units can not enter through Somerset Avenue. The Parade begins at 9:15 am sharp. Parade forms are available at the Egg Festival website at or the Pittsfield Town Office. Completed forms can be dropped off at the Pittsfield Town Office, 112 Somerset Avenue, Pittsfield; e-mailed to or returned to Steve McCarron, Parade Chair at P.O. Box 82, Pittsfield, ME 04967.
