PORTLAND and BANGOR — NEWS CENTER is happy to welcome new faces in 2018. Lindsey Mills and Clay Gordon are returning to Maine to join the news team.
On Jan. 2, Mills takes the co-anchor spot with Lee Goldberg on NEWS CENTER Now at 5 p.m. “I look forward to learning, not only from the veteran journalists, but also from those who are creating powerful content on all of our digital platform,” said Mills in a press release, adding how thrilled she is to reconnect with friends here and family in New England.
Gordon begins co-anchoring The NEWS CENTER weekend Morning Report with Katie Bavoso and Cory Froomkin on Dec. 30. “Maine is the place where I started my career,” he said in a press release. “It’s great to be part of the NEWS CENTER team and getting out in the Maine communities again.”
Mills and Gordon worked in the Bangor news market where they met and became engaged. Gordon volunteered as an EMT and firefighter with the Holden Fire Department and Mills launched the first all-girls youth ice hockey league in Brewer. The married couple most recently worked together as co-anchors in Peoria, Illinois.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lindsey and Clay back to Maine! Their history here, passion for great storytelling, and compassion for helping Mainers, makes them a great fit for the NEWS CENTER family,” said News Director, Karen Araiza.
